Bio-Sketch of Prof. Sayed Kaseb

Prof. Dr. Sayed Kaseb has been a staff member at Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University since 1994, and has served as Manager of Pathways to Higher Education-Egypt, since 2004 (Pathways.cu.edu.eg), Manager of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency for the MENA Region Master program, since 2008 (remena.uni-kassel.de), Consultant of "Postgraduate and Research Sector, Cairo University", Deputy Director of "Energy Research Center, Cairo University" and Director of "Innovation Development and Incubator Lab", since 2014.

He was Consultant of Cairo University President from 2006 to 2011 and member of the supreme council of Journal of Advanced Research, Cairo University (JAR), from 2008 to 2011. In 2012/2013, he worked as consultant for scientific and technological activities and member of the technical office for postgraduate and research at Cairo University. He worked in many international projects in cooperation with Germany, Italy, UK, Greece, France, UN, and USA as well as other national projects.

His research interests have focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency and heat transfer. He gets many scientific awards such as “Distinction in Post-Graduate Studies”, CAPSCU Annual Prize, 1996 and 2001 as well as "International Publications Award", Cairo University, 2007 and 2009.

For more than twenty years, Prof. Dr. Kaseb has published 34 scientific papers, participated in 27 conferences and 65 seminars/workshops. He participated in establishing 12 skills developments laboratory in different Egyptian universities, also, he was the author/co-author of 9 different books untitled "Graduation project directory", "Spotlights on the current issues", "Small projects: opportunities and challenges", "Risk assessment and risk management", "Pathways Poets … Our Divan", "Principals of Managerial Economics", "General Lecture Directory", "Principles of Engineering Economy", and "Principles of Electronics Cooling", the last three is in English language while the other in Arabic.

In his engineering profession capacity, he worked as a consultant for more than 55 consultations, research and projects for different sectors in the Egyptian society, and 50 technical, financial and economical evaluations for National Bank of Egypt (the biggest bank in Egypt). His professional experience extended to cover higher education development, ranking of world universities, educational/training activates, engineering economics and management/coordinating of the national and international projects.

Among the projects funded by Ford Foundation, Prof. Dr. Kaseb acted as the Manager of the project “Pathways to Higher Education, Egypt” (PHE), since 2004. This project is in partnership with many non-profit organizations and Cairo, Ain Shams, Assiut, Helwan, Minia, South Valley, Fayoum, Beni-Suef, Benha, Sohag, Alexandria, Tanta, Mansoura, Zagazig, Minoufiya, Suez Canal, Kafrelsheikh, Port-Said, Damanhour, Aswan and Al-Azhar Universities. In addition to agreements and cooperation with nationally and internationally institutes, such as: Egyptian E-Learning University, Social Development Fund (SDF), University of Cambridge-ESOL, International Labor Organization (ILO) and CIDA, CANADA.
